The Wilsons Creek, Huonbrook, Wanganui Association was established after the 2022 flood and landslide disaster to create a local voice and community representation to Council, emergency services, roadwork builders and stakeholders.

During a crisis or more peaceful and calmer times, the Community Association continues to be open for any local resident to participate, contribute and get involved in any way to support our local community.

Get Involved

  • Our committee of volunteers welcomes the participation of any residents in our valley who would like to get involved at any level of contribution.

    It is an open structure inviting and welcoming anyone’s ideas, strategies, solutions and creativity.

    For some people, it may be sending in their ideas and recommendations via email, for others, coming along casually to a meeting to share and discuss issues and for others, offering their experience and advice more regularly or assisting with anything including:-

    Helping with some administration
    Helping with communications and design
    Helping with website management
    Helping with events and activities
    Helping with catering / food events

  • Helping networking residents & community

  • Helping with creative ideas and input

  • Being part of the committee
    Being part of the emergency radio stewards

  • Being part of emergency/disaster response
    Offering expertise in any relevant area
